The Yankton Clovers 4-H club is a general purpose club. We do not specialize in one project such as Livestock, Shooting Sports, Horses, etc. We have members who are in a variety of projects and we all learn together about the diversity of 4-H. We have members who show horses, rabbits, ducks, and chickens along with many others who enjoy areas such as cooking, sewing, home environment, photography, visual arts, etc. The club meets monthly on the second Sunday of the month. Meeting times are at 2:00 p.m.
We do several Community Service Projects every year. This year we made cat and dog toys and purchased supplies for the Heartland Humane Society. We also toured the facility and interacted with the animals.
Club members made door decorations and centerpieces for residents of Majestic Bluffs Country Neighborhood and prepared and served a lunch for volunteers and staff at the Habitat for Humanity store on Day of Caring. The club raises funds at both the club and county level. This year the club did a concession stand during the Mid City Rabbit show as a fundraiser. Also, members and parents helped with the annual 4-H County Fruit Fundraiser and the many County Fair events/activities.
While it sounds like we are always busy doing something we also let our hair down and have fun as a club. Members went ice skating in December for a holiday gathering and bowling in August to celebrate a successful County Fair.
