Clay County 4-H Center

515 High Street – Vermillion SD

Ready to gear up your program planning for 2010?  Clay County is excited to host a Leader/Volunteer/Parent Workshop on February 6th from 10:00-2:00 at the Clay County 4-H Center, 515 High St, Vermillion SD.  This area is extremely lucky to have such a strong group working with our youth and we look forward to a chance to provide resources to make your jobs easier.

Cindy Bergman, Horticulture Educator will be on hand to talk about the surge in home gardening and how the 4-H program is keeping pace.  Agronomy Educator Larry Wagner will present some interesting ways to work Ag programs into your meetings as well as changes to project areas.    There will also be a session on the various ways we can all incorporate the Science, Engineering and Technology emphasis into youth’s everyday life.

Ever wonder why what you are saying as a leader isn’t quite what parents or youth are hearing?  We will be presenting an interactive session that gives insight into the various ways people communicate.  This will be a modified version of the program presented at last year’s TLC and you won’t want to miss the impact it made on some of the youth.  In response to leaders from all counties request’s,  there will be a Parliamentary Procedure refresher course as well.

We realize you are all very busy.  While we would love to have you attend the whole session, you are also very welcome to attend as much or as little as your schedule allows.  There will be lunch on site with a free will donation. We would appreciate a call (605-677-7111) or email (clay.county@sdstate.edu) by Thursday February 4th  if you plan to attend so we can plan for handouts and lunch.  We look forward to seeing you there!
